Toronto: Théâtre français de Toronto presents Molière’s “Les Fourberies de Scapin” May 30-June 1

Monday, May 6, 2024

Théâtre français de Toronto, in collaboration with Alliance Française de Toronto, is proud to present Les Fourberies de Scapin, Molière's classic play directed by Emmanuel Besnault and produced by La Compagnie L'Éternel Été and Lucernaire Diffusion.

Two friends, Octave and Léandre, have each married for love young women of unknown births and social classes. And this without the consent of their fathers! Scapin, a cunning and generous valet, returns to the stage to help youth and true love triumph.

In a frenzied rhythm, a troupe of five actors, musicians and singers stage one of Molière’s funniest plays. A classic comedy revisited in music in the spirit of commedia dell’arte.

This whirlwind production hailing from France runs from May 30 to June 1, 2024 at the Berkeley Street Theatre, in the Marilyn and Charles Baillie Theatre (formerly known as the Downstairs).
