St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival
Presents
The Merchant of Venice Print
by: William Shakespeare
Directed by: Ian Farthing

Starting:  Tuesday, July 15 2008
Ending:  Saturday, August 16 2008

The Merchant of Venice, while still a romantic comedy, has a famously fascinating undercurrent running through the play when the Jewish moneylender Shylock insists on having his bond: a pound of flesh from the merchant Antonio. This play also challenges us to consider the nature of mercy by asking the question of how much will we do for love?

Starring the nationally renowned actor David Adams as Shylock, this play will also mark the directorial debut of our Artistic Director Ian Farthing at the Festival.
