So Many Doors Print
by: Celia McBride

Tuesday, January 27 2009

So Many Doors is a play about how grief affects the relationships of two thirty-something Yukon couples that have each lost their young children in a tragic accident.

Shay and Lyle had a baby daughter and Linee and Jed had a baby son, both of whom were killed when a truck hit a patch of ice and sideswiped a daycare worker pushing the two infants in a double stroller.

The play opens with the four characters sitting in a support group for grieving parents. Though once inseparable as friends, an old rift has ruptured their friendship. The deaths of their babies have brought them back together.

The Yukon itself plays a powerful role in the play as the light, the darkness and the magnificent landscape deeply affect the four characters.
