Raymond est sur le point d’être expulsé de son école pour avoir présenté un exposé sur Hitler dans son cours d’histoire. Il rencontre Laura, conseillère sociale, une pacifiste idéaliste. Raymond, très articulé, défend ses actes de façon intelligente, tout en défiant l’idéalisme « théorique » de Laura. Cette rencontre en apparence sans danger prend soudain une tournure inattendue : Raymond sort une arme.
