Burlington: The Burlington PAC presents the Ontario premiere of “Hot Brown Honey” March 8‑9

Monday, January 21, 2019

The Burlington Performing Arts Centre is proud to present the Ontario premiere of Hot Brown Honey March 8 and 9, 2019 in the Main Theatre. Hot Brown Honey is an all female force of nature all the way from Australia, here to serve up an audacious platter of dance, poetry, comedy, circus, striptease and song. Hot Brown Honey is unapologetically fierce – defiantly shattering clichés in an explosion of colour, culture and controversy.

Hot Brown Honey is an experience for the Game Changers, Myth Slayers, Poets, Movers, Music Makers, Ground Breakers, Truth Sayers, Shake em up Women, Queens, Queers and Risk Takers! Hot Brown Honey brings the heat, delivering lashings of sass and a hot pinch of empowerment in the smash-hit that took the Edinburgh Fringe - and the world - by storm. Packing a punch of hip-hop politics, this stellar posse of phenomenal women make noise as they defiantly smash stereotypes and remix the system.

Co-created by Lisa Fa'alafi and Kim “Busty Beatz” Bowers, Hot Brown Honey features a cast of powerful women with diverse backgrounds including Maori, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander, Samoan, Tongan, Indonesian and South African heritage.

The cast of Hot Brown Honey includes Lisa Fa’alafi as the Game Changer, Ofa Fotu as The Myth Slayer, Hope Haami as Hope One The Beatboxer, Ghenoa Gela as The Truth Sayer, Crystal Stacey as The Peace Maker, and Busty Beatz as The Queen Bee.
