Mississauga: Theatre Erindale presents “We The People” February 7-10
Wednesday, January 30, 2019
Theatre Erindale’s Transformative season continues with the second Studio Series show We The People, directed by Rachel Blair, a devised project by the 3rd year class.
A collectively created piece, this year’s devised project traces the rise and ripples of student protest throughout the 1960s. From Berkeley to Kent State, Civil Rights and Feminism to the Anti-War movement, We the People asks if the optimism and wisdom of youth can truly change the world.
Blair says, “Looking at the relationship between activism and youth with this group of clever and creative performers has been an absolute honour. I’m constantly impressed by the risks they take and the care they’ve put into the concept- I can’t wait to see how they continue exploring this relationship between politics and art into their future careers.”
