Mississauga: Jim Mezon directs “Three Sisters” at Theatre Erindale March 14-24

Tuesday, February 26, 2019

Theatre Erindale’s Transformative season continues with the final MainStage show Anton Chekhov’s Three Sisters, directed by Jim Mezon.

Mezon says “The play Three Sisters, is recognized as one of the great pieces in theatre. It's challenges are enormous; and for that reason it is rarely done. To have the opportunity to work on the piece with these committed, young actors was not something on which I could pass.

Chekhov defines our daily lives, not the exceptional moments. All of the major events happen offstage. Onstage we witness these young women buffeted by the blows which life offers all of us. Disillusion and heartbreak rain down upon them......and yet through their suffering we witness such joy of life....such endurance in the face of despair. As Olga tells us: ‘we will live’”
