On April 26, 2019, The Living Arts Centre in partnership with ARRA Arts presents GARDISH MEIN TAARE in Hammerson Hall. Tickets start at $30. Group discounts for 10 or more are available by calling the Box Office.

GARDISH MEIN TAARE (English Translation: ‘Stars in the Sky’) is directed by Saif Hyder Hassan and performed in Hindi with English subtitles. This somewhat musical play explores the pain, pathos, magic and music inspired by the turbulent times and relationship shared by two mavericks - Guru Dutt and his wife Geeta Dutt - portrayed by renowned actors, Arif Zakaria and Sonali Kulkarni.

The era of the 50s and 60s is brought to life with beautiful lyrics, hit music and stunning sets to help audiences reminisce about this poignant age of Hindi film. Director Saif Hyder Hasan subtly shines light on the turmoil and inner conflicts that a husband and wife go through in a marriage when careers and ambitions intrude on a relationship, incorporating fictional elements and real-life incidents in Guru Dutt’s life that make for a thoroughly entertaining watch!
