Toronto: Stage Centre Productions presents “Blue Stockings” March 21-30

Friday, March 1, 2019

Stage Centre Productions' fourth play of the 42nd season at the Fairview Library Theatre, Blue Stockings opens on March 21, 2019 and runs until Saturday, March 30, 2019. Please call the Box Office at 416-299-5557 to reserve tickets or book on line through

The fourth play of our season is Jessica Swale’s  Blue Stockings, a moving story of four young women fighting for education and self-determination against the larger backdrop of women’s suffrage.  Cambridge 1896, and Girton College, home to the country’s first female students, is an object of annoyance to the rest of the university.  While skilfully invoking its Victorian setting, the play’s themes of gender equality and the power of education are just as important today.
