Hamilton: Theatre Aquarius presents the musical “Freaky Friday” April 24-May 19

Thursday, April 11, 2019

Theatre Aquarius is thrilled to present Freaky Friday, a hilarious and heartwarming new Disney musical, sure to delight the whole family.

When an overworked mother and her teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right again before mom’s big wedding. Freaky Friday, a new musical based on the celebrated novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney films, is a hilarious, contemporary update on an American classic in which a mother and daughter really see what it is to be a family and experience each other’s lives first-hand, if only for a day.

Delightfully spunky” with “timeless appeal” (Variety), Freaky Friday features a new book by Bridget Carpenter (Parenthood) and an original pop/rock score by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winners Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey (Next to Normal). This dynamic story puts a fresh new spin on a “polished, peppy, modern fairy tale” (The Washington Post).

Freaky Friday is Directed by Mike Jackson with Music Direction by Joseph Tritt and Choreography by Robin Calvert.  The Set and Costume Design is by Ivan Brozic, and Lighting Design by Gail Ksionzyk. The show stars Kevin Aichele, Michelle Bouey, Mariah Campos, Ben Chiasson, Joel Cumber, Michael DeRose, Jessica Gallant, Garett Hill, Sierra Holder, Robin Hutton, Jayne Lewis, Heather McGuigan, Daphne Moens, Jade Repeta, Conor Scully, Jenny Weisz, Sandy Winsby, Nathan French and Hutton Patterson. The Stage Manager is Beth Bruck, with ASMs Josephine Ho and Loralie Pollard and Apprentice Stage Manager Erin Cunningham

Freaky Friday will run from April 24 – May 19, 2019, with performances Tuesdays – Saturdays at 7:30pm, and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1pm.  Tickets range from $40 - $95.
