Toronto: Leroy Street Theatre presents the Toronto premiere of “C’mon Angie!” April 12-27

Wednesday, April 3, 2019

Following its critically acclaimed world premiere in Vancouver, C'mon, Angie! by Amy Lee Lavoie will receive its first Toronto production at The Assembly Theatre April 12th - April 27th.

Presented in collaboration with the Spadina Avenue Gang, Leroy Street Theatre's new production of the exciting new Canadian drama will bring together artists from around the country. Directed by Montreal-based director, Cristina Cugliandro, the new production will feature Leroy Street Theatre's artistic director Anne van Leeuwen, and multi-award winning actor Ryan Hollyman.

In the pre-dawn hours following a one-night stand, Angie and Reed spend a fraught morning confronting questions related to intimacy, consent, and sexual assault. As the two characters uncover the truth of what happened the night before, a major gap between their understanding of the situation-- and the meaning of consent-- is revealed. Told with humour, heart, and unflinching honesty, C’mon Angie! dramatizes a difficult and all-too familiar situation.
