A Toronto-based mentalism duo called Beyond Mental Borders, recently named one of the top mentalism acts in the city, along with being called “the hottest act out there” and “a must see show” by our peers in the magic community, officially announced a featured monthly residency on Sundays at The Rec Room. This promises to be a new staple in the city, offering a recurring, large scale, Vegas-style magic and illusion show.

Beyond Mental Borders are the highly praised Toronto-based mentalism team of Melissa Ronson and Armand Antony. Stepping away from the traditional road of magic, the duo creates a world where "sleight of mind" dominates, while surprise and awe are the norm. They avoid flashy illusions and use no stage gimmicks. Instead, Beyond Mental Borders focuses on their true skillset: connecting your mind to theirs.

MELISSA & ARMAND

After spending years on stage assisting in the world of magic illusions, Melissa takes the stage bringing an innocent yet mysterious delight, specializing in divination, recognizing facial reactions, and reading body language to reveal ideas and thoughts in inexplicable ways.

A born performer and bringing experience to the stage as an actor and musician, Armand began his illusionist days with card magic and prediction. After spending time studying cold reading, psychology, and influence, Armand completes the duo with a refined sense of extra-sensory perception to recognize emotion, predict thoughts, and connect with strangers in a way no one can quite explain.

Our feature show, Connection, brings the art of mentalism to the stage in the biggest of ways, offering performances for audiences big and small.
