Casting has just been announced for the upcoming North American touring production of My Fair Lady. 

The 2018 Lincoln Center Theater revival of My Fair Lady closed on Broadway July 7, but the Barlett Sher–helmed production launches a tour in Syracuse, New York, before officially opening December 19 at the Opera House at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

Shereen Ahmed, who understudied the role of Eliza Doolittle on Broadway, will play the London flower girl full time opposite Laird Mackintosh as Henry Higgins. Ahmed made her Broadway debut with My Fair Lady in the ensemble after an open call audition. Mackintosh, who performed with Toronto’s Opera Atelier (1997-2002) and the Stratford Festival (2002-09), is currently featured in Broadway’s The Phantom of the Opera as Monsieur André, and has also performed the role of the Phantom in over 200 performances. Full casting for the production will be announced at a later date.

The Broadway production won the 2018 Drama Desk, Outer Critics and Drama League Awards for Best Musical Revival and was nominated for ten Tony Awards.

The musical features a book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe, based on George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion.

The production is choreographed by Christopher Gattelli and has sets by Michael Yeargan, costumes by Catherine Zuber, lighting by Donald Holder, sound design by Marc Salzberg, and music direction by Ted Sperling, featuring My Fair Lady’s original musical arrangements by Robert Russell Bennett and Phil Lang, and dance arrangements by Trude Rittmann.
