Wednesday, January 8, 2020

Theatre Orangeville Artistic Director David Nairn is delighted to announce the appointment of Sharyn Ayliffe as the company’s new General Manager effective March 2, 2020.

Sharyn has been with Theatre Orangeville in a variety of positions since 2011 and is currently Programs Manager, where she has creatively and ablely managed 14 separate programs, including the Young Companies, Theatre Orangeville Youth Singers and Creative Partners on Stage.

“There are few jobs at Theatre Orangeville that Sharyn hasn’t done,” says David Nairn. “Not only does she bring confidence and competence to everything she does, but absolute passion and devotion. She doesn’t just understand the ethos of who we are at Theatre Orangeville, she lives and breathes it. Her energy and drive will take us to the next level of professionalism.”

Sharyn is a familiar figure in Orangeville having lived here all her life. She is an accomplished photographer and graphic designer, and is an active volunteer as well as wife and mother.

She replaces the incomparable Bernadette Hardaker who is retiring after serving in the position since 2016.

Under Bernadette's leadership as General Manager, Theatre Orangeville has soared to new creative heights with exciting new adventures like The Dream at Island Lake, the Theatre for Young Audiences School Touring company and NORTH(519) - The Best of the Toronto Fringe, as well as numerous unforgettable evenings moderating Authors on Stage with BookLore.

We wish her great success in all her future endeavours and remind her that "once a member of the Theatre Orangeville family, always a member of the Theatre Orangeville family!” - David Nairn
