We are so excited to have the 2020-2021 Season underway at VCO. It's a big year for us. We've launched a number of new programs, and changed how we carry out some old ones.

The Programs

Educator Suite

New this year, the Educator Suite provides fun and educational opera videos to Secondary School teachers across the country. The Suite is designed to help alleviate the stress teachers are currently facing in the classroom due to COVID-19 by providing content that helps them achieve their curriculum goals. Symmetry

For a long time now, VCO has wanted to provide a development program for artists. We are proud to announce the program is finally here! Symmetry is the culmination of five years of exploration into what a modern-day artist needs to succeed in the business.

Participants will get custom trainings and plans from a personal trainer, a dietitian, and a vocal instructor. They will star in the Canadian Opera Fest 2021 recordings with orchestra, and develop critical professional & life skills through seminars and workshops - all this and more packed into an affordable two-week experience!

Accessible Lessons

The Season

The Gondoliers is a classic from Gilbert & Sullivan. We can't be sure what form it will take yet, but with a hilarious cast lined up we know you'll enjoy the show.

Orpheus in the Underworld is one of the coolest musical projects we have undertaken. For this show, we restored the full-score, created a brand new translation, and gave the text a revised musical setting. We have even published this new version for purchase. Built from the ground up, it will be one show you won't want to miss!
