St. Catharines: The Foster Festival plans 12 readings of Foster’s “The Christmas Tree” starting December 4

Friday, October 2, 2020

We just can't keep the good news to ourselves anymore!

All of us here at The Foster Festival want to end this year on a high note - full of joy and laughter as we celebrate our favourite playwright and some very talented Niagara artists.

12 artist couples, performing a single reading each of Norm Foster's one-act play, The Christmas Tree. With readings taking place at some of our favourite establishments in the City.

That's 12 readings of the same script performed by 12 separate artist couples. Wowza!

The Christmas Tree by Norm Foster
Dec 4 - 19, 2020

Directed by Marcia Kash

A tree lot. Christmas Eve. One man. One woman. One tree.

Who should get the tree?  Each gives reasons why they are the most deserving and each seems unaffected by the other one’s dilemma!  It’s a story filled with laughs, heartache, and good old-fashioned Holiday spirit.

Starring a stellar group of artist couples!

Couples include Chick Reid & Tom McCamus, Sharry Flett & Anthony Bekken, Marla McLean & Graeme Sommerville, Nicole Joy-Fraser & Jason Chesworth, Tara Rosling & Patrick McManus … just to name a few!

With readings taking place at these wonderful establishments!

Bolete, Wellington Court, Henry of Pelham, Johnny Rocco's/Stone Mill Inn, The Office Tap & Grill, Coppola's RistoranteThe Grantham House, Vineland Estates and the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre.

Next week we will announce how to buy tickets on The Foster Festival website and share the 2020 Company of Actors and Venues to celebrate this much needed holiday season!

Performances run from December 4-19

COVID-19 Safety Measures

In partnership with each venue, we will adhere to all required distancing and cleaning protocols.

A maximum of 50 tickets will be sold for each reading - in some cases less due to safe distancing in the establishment.
