Toronto: Cahoots Theatre accepting submissions from ENBY artists from across Canada

Thursday, October 22, 2020

Guided by dynamic artistic facilitators Ximena Huizi and Jay Northcott, six non-binary theatre artists will come together for ten weeks in a veritable explosion of collaborative creative expression. A virtual performance will be presented in Spring 2021, presented by Cahoots Theatre.

We are accepting submissions from all ENBY artists from across Canada, multi-generational. We strongly encourage BIPOC artists who identify as Non-Binary to apply.

Enby is a phonetic pronunciation of the letters NB meaning Non-Binary; gender identity or expression that is not defined in terms of the binary options (male/female, masculine/feminine).

This is an opportunity for experimentation in installations, one-on-one encounters, performance, movement, puppetry/mask, freakish, out of this world, music (solo & bands) performance art, installation art, roving performers, poetry, media art & film, DJ's, and absolutely anything else! We are not explicitly looking for performers.

Submissions will close on NOVEMBER 20, 2020 at 12PM EST (NOON).

We will let everyone who submitted know on November 30 if they will be receiving an interview, to be held during the week of December 7.

The 10-week program will run every Thursday from 6-9 pm starting from February 18 to April 29, 2020. No session will be held on April 1. In addition to the 30 hours of session work, there may be a need for additional hours for independent work.
