Barrie: Talk Is Free Theatre offers free admission to patrons for the next three years

Monday, November 16, 2020

Talk Is Free Theatre has always been characterized by their innovative resolve to create unique theatrical experiences by challenging traditional theatre habits. In the spirit of embracing change, today the company announced a major development to their price of admission.

To engage an even more diverse range of patrons, Talk Is Free Theatre will be offering FREE admission to all core theatre programming in Barrie for the next three years. Looking towards a post-COVID world, the company hopes this will help rebuild audiences by encouraging easier access for all individuals, demographics, and for many people for the first time.

How will it work?

To ensure equity and fairness of access, all those who book in advance will be required to pay a deposit ($25 per ticket or $15 per person for students and school groups). Ticket booking limits will apply. Attendees will have their deposit returned in full, or if they make arrangements to change or cancel up to 4 hours before the scheduled curtain, otherwise the deposit becomes a donation to the theatre and a tax receipt will be issued.

Talk Is Free Theatre continues to develop new programming and practices to stay connected and share their signature theatrical experiences with the community in Barrie and beyond. More information on winter and spring programming will soon be available.

The Producers Circle program will continue to be offered, with enhanced and additional benefits.
