Hamilton: Theatre Aquarius reschedules opening of “Ring of Fire” to August 2020

Thursday, March 26, 2020

In a time when so many events and activities have been forced to cancel due to the current health emergency, Theatre Aquarius is pleased to be able to offer one piece of positive news to theatre-lovers and music fans throughout the region, with the release of rescheduled dates for the season-ending musical Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash, which will now run from August 19 – September 5, 2020.

From the songbook of Johnny Cash comes this unique musical about love and faith, struggle and success, rowdiness and redemption, and the healing power of home and family. Johnny Cash’s remarkable life story is told through his music, climaxing in a concert that will both move and exhilarate. From the opening chords of vintage country to rockabilly, rock n’ roll, searing ballads and gentle songs of love and deep faith, Ring of Fire packs a score that provides a rich fabric in which to lay down the story of Johnny Cash. Ring of Fire gives his music the spotlight, and celebrates the songs that are such a part of our collective experience.

Ring of Fire had been originally scheduled to close out the 19-20 theatre season, starting in April. Theatre Aquarius is thrilled to announce that we have been able to save the run of Ring of Fire by moving to new dates, just prior to the launch of next season’s shows. The complete run has been moved, intact, to August 19 – September 5, 2020. All show dates and tickets held have been transferred to equivalent dates within this adjusted schedule, and new tickets will be printed and mailed. There is no need for action on the part of ticketholders at this time.

Ring of Fire will run from August 19 – September 5, 2020, with performances Tuesdays – Saturdays at 7:30pm, and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:30pm.  Tickets range from $30 - $95. Opening Night is August 21 at 7:30pm. Tickets may be ordered online at www.theatreaquarius.org. As per Ontario provincial government order regarding non-essential businesses, Theatre Aquarius, including our box office, will be closed for the immediate future. We look forward to happier days ahead, when we can once again come together in celebration and share in the magic that only live theatre can offer.
