Toronto: Help support Against the Grain artists impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic

Monday, March 30, 2020

For the last 10 seasons, Against the Grain Theatre has been known for presenting the most innovative opera productions in Canada. We couldn't have made it here without YOU! AtG has many exciting productions we want to share with you in the coming years.

We know that the future for everyone is a little uncertain at the moment. We are all feeling the financial and personal anxieties brought on by Covid-19. However, in crisis, we find community. We are asking you to support your arts community as companies have been forced to cancel productions and, as a result, have lost ticket revenue. AtG specifically has had to indefinitely postpone our final show of the season, the world premiere of BOUND.

Against the Grain Theatre is committed to introducing new audiences to outside-the-box operatic experiences. That doesn't stop now. We are looking at ways to continue to innovate within the changing circumstances.

As a lean and resourceful team of artists, creators, and leaders, every dollar donated is truly transformational for our company. Your generosity is invaluable at this time.

Support Against the Grain Theatre and the future of opera in Canada.

"We will get through this. There will be a ripple of this experience for the rest of our lives, but we are resilient people, especially the artists. We have been gritting away and surviving for our entire careers and will continue to do so. We need music, we need art, and we need healing."

— Joel Ivany, Founder & Artistic Director of Against the Grain Theatre
