Toronto: Toronto Operetta Theatre postpones the premiere of “A Northern Lights Dream”

Thursday, April 2, 2020

We are in the midst of extraordinary times and we hope that you and all those close to you are safe and well.

It is with a great sense of disappointment that we have decided to postpone the World Premiere of Michael Rose’s A NORTHERN LIGHTS DREAM.  In light of recommendations by the Province and City of Toronto, we are exercising abundant caution to ensure that you, our artists and staff are safe and clear of harm’s way.  In the theatre world, everyone knows that ‘the show must go on’ but considering the present pandemic, the show must NOT go on, at least until we get the all clear sign from the health authorities.

We are working closely with TO Live to secure a future date for A NORTHERN LIGHTS DREAM. We will keep everyone updated as developments arise. In the meantime, ticket holders will be contacted by the Box Office of St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts to choose from the following three options.

  • Retain your ticket for the performances to be announced in the 2020-2021 Season,
  • Transfer the value of your ticket to a donation for TOT, or,
  • Request an immediate refund for the value of your ticket

We ask our patrons to consider supporting Toronto Operetta Theatre in this extremely difficult time. We appreciate the generosity and understanding of our patrons, staff, volunteers, and artists as we work together during this challenging time in our community. Please help us face these new challenges and keep operetta on the stage.

TOT wishes to express its gratitude for the continued support from the Jackman Foundation, and the Dalglish, Bedolfe, Mary Margaret Webb and the Dianne and Irving Kipnes Foundations, Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council and the Toronto Arts Council. Ticket information is available at the St. Lawrence Centre’s Box Office, 27 Front St. East, by phone – 416-366-7723 or 1-800-708-6754, or online at www.stlc.com.
