TOMORROW at 7:30 PM EDT, Red Bull Theater LIVEa series of informal FREE readings continues with the Jacobean masterpiece THE REVENGER'S TRAGEDY that Red Bull Theater produced Off-Broadway in 2005, adapted and directed by JESSE BERGER.

THE REVENGER'S TRAGEDY was Red Bull Theater's second Off-Broadway production, The New York Times deemed it "Dynamite" and Backstage called it “Jaw-dropping and eye-filling…Heart-pounding…Unforgettable!” We're thrilled to reunite members of the original company for this unique occasion.

This mesmerizing Jacobean thriller, written a few years after Hamlet, is a searing examination of humankind’s social need for justice and our animal desire for vengeance.  Vindice, the "Revenger," sets off a chain reaction of havoc in a corrupt and decadent Venice, which exposes outrageous indulgences and government hypocrisy, and ends in a coup de théâter massacre of epic proportions.  Part black comedy, part social satire, the play is a gleefully macabre plot-twisting blender full of Shakespeare's greatest hits.
