Stratford: The Stratford Festival changes viewing dates for streamable plays
Wednesday, June 3, 2020
Heartbroken by the anti-Black and anti-Indigenous racism we are seeing across Canada and the U.S., and out of respect for the victims and those peacefully protesting for change, we are postponing this week’s online programming. In its place, we are offering our artists and staff of colour an opportunity to share posts of their choosing and important racial justice resources through our channels.
As a result, this Thursday’s release and live viewing party of Hamlet will be delayed by one week, until Thursday, June 11. The runs of The Tempest, Timon of Athens and Love's Labour's Lost have each been extended for a week. The remaining films in our Shakespeare film festival will all be pushed back by one week. We’ve included a new schedule below for your reference.
The première of our new film of Othello on the Cineplex Store in Canada has also been delayed. We will be back in touch to let you know the new date of this launch.
We look forward to gathering with you again next week for Hamlet.
