Stratford: The Stratford Festival holds a viewing party for “The Taming of the Shrew” on July 16
Tuesday, July 14, 2020
From the world-renowned Stratford Festival, this scintillating production of Shakespeare’s boisterous comedy The Taming of the Shrew will stir your emotions as you follow Katherina and Petruchio, the feisty lovers at the centre of Shakespeare’s most pointed social commentary. Deborah Hay gives a “performance for the ages” (Toronto Star) as Katherina: “truly beyond compare” (Globe and Mail). Ben Carlson, who won the Canadian Screen Award for his performance, is the perfect counterpoint as her plotting suitor, creating a chemistry that sets the stage alight.
