Toronto: University of Toronto Opera announces its 2020/21 season

Tuesday, September 1, 2020

Today UofT Opera is thrilled to share our 2020 - 2021 season with you!!

We will begin with UofT Opera: Spotlight on our Singers, a video introduction to our Student Artists on November 5, part of the Faculty’s Thursday Noon series.

Next up will be A Little Night Music, an operatic concert with repertoire ranging from Mozart to Sondheim to be broadcast on November 27th and 28th.

Our annual Opera Student Composer Collective will kick off activities in January 2021. Following the success of the dramatic Massey Murder last season, we will turn to comedy with Escape Room; an intriguing scenario of characters trapped in a darkened room with no memory of how they got there. This will be broadcast on January 17th.

Continuing with the Thursday Noon series, we will present Spotlight on Diversity on February 25, a program of vocal and operatic music by composers reflective of our diverse culture and its experience.

Our spring production will be Opera in Miniature: An Evening of One Act Operas, chosen from the extensive repertory of one act operas showcasing the poignancy and intimacy of the art form.

Stay tuned for more details, we look forward to having you join us for this exciting and groundbreaking season!!
