Wednesday, February 17, 2021
Continuing its thirty year commitment and focus on creating a home for BIPOC artists, b current performing arts and its Board of Directors wishes to thank its former Artistic Director, Catherine Hernandez, for her years of dedication, service, advocacy and particularly for her many contributions in ushering in the organization's 30th anniversary. The Board of Directors and the entire b current community wishes Catherine the very best in all her endeavours.
The Board of Directors is happy to announce the appointment of Sadie Berlin as the new Artistic Director of b current performing arts. Sadie Berlin is a published fiction author, a writer of post-dramatic texts, and a performance artist. In addition to her previous work as a legal anthropologist and ethnographer, Sadie has become better known as a researcher and explorer of cultural dramaturgy. In 2019, Sadie was the performance dramaturg and theatre curator-in-training at the Stratford Festival Lab. Sadie is also an educator, an activist and an anti-racism consultant. We are ecstatic about her new role with b current as the company’s new Artistic Director. Please join us in welcoming Sadie Berlin.
