Kingston: Theatre Kingston presents the Storefront Fringe July 8-31 – passes now available
Monday, May 17, 2021
We've missed you! And, while no-one is more excited for the return to the theatre than us, we thought it best to ease our way back. What better way to do so than with a slow rollout of the shows in this year's Fringe?
Instead of the typically frantic 10 day schedule, we have extended the Fringe Schedule over the entire month of July! It's going to be SO GOOD! Kind of like the first bite of one of those delectable croissants from NORTHSIDE espresso + kitchen that you want to relish and let linger on your tastebuds, reminding you it was worth the wait... and savouring the (remarkably unique) flavours as a promise of more to come.
The Storefront Fringe is created locally, and because our 10 show festival is made up of local or returning Kingston Artists, we can spread it out so, like the crossant, you can enjoy it at a leisurely pace. This year the Community Foundation of Kingston and Area is a generous supporter of the Fringe. With all this local support we could confidently add UNSTOPPABLE to our motto. #thankCFKA
This year, it is a top priority to produce the festival within any and all public health recommendations.. Two of the shows on offer can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home as part of our Virtual Fringe. And for our live shows we will have one dedicated venue rather than three separate storefronts. We offer you the comfort of the Baby Grand Theatre. This beautiful black box theatre has proven capable of supplying a wonderful, safe environment for audiences and artists alike and will provide all the bells and whistles we cannot do with our created venues.
The audience capacity will be limited to proper KFL&A public health standards. Every seat will be a good one! But they will sell out fast!
PLUS - when you get your seats early, you will be helping the artist determine if they need to add additional shows. With limited seating the option for companies to add extra show times is invaluable. If you love someone's work, get your tickets now!
All tickets sold for 2021's Festival will be honoured for any rescheduled show... just in case we are thrown another curve ball this summer. (Zombie Seagulls perhaps???)
