The Howland Company is thrilled to announce the appointment of the company’s first Board of Directors. The collective artistic leadership of the company are honoured to be working with board members Benjamin Dermer, Rona Ghanbari, Susannah Gouinlock, Michael Joseph, Stephen Sager, and Tamara Thomas. These six theatre-loving and civic-minded board members bring a wide range of skills to the company and are already engaged in building on the company’s 8-year track record of electric theatrical productions and community programming.  

Additionally, the company is proud to share that we are evolving as a theatre collective, with the support of our Board of Directors, into a solidified collective leadership model. Moving forward, Howland will be led by a slate of Artistic Leaders, currently set at 9 members, with ambitions to grow in the coming months and years.

This is a clear next step in Howland’s journey and we cannot wait to share what we’ve been planning with you. With the support and leadership of the board and a newly minted organizational structure, the company is poised to move into this next phase of its development, while continuing to center the values of art-making, collaboration, community building, and the creation of meaningful learning and working opportunities for artists.
