Toronto: Soulpepper postpones its first two shows of 2022

Thursday, January 27, 2022

Soulpepper has made the decision to reschedule the first two productions of our season until later this Fall. This change affects the two productions set to open in February, including The Golden Record created by the Slaight Artists and The Ex-Boyfriend Yard Sale by Haley McGee.

I’m sure as we inched closer to the start of performances you might have been wondering if anything would change. It wasn’t an easy decision to delay the start of our highly anticipated 2022 Season, but ultimately we feel it was the right one to ensure the safety of everyone on and off our stages. No changes have been made to the cast and creative teams, and we are glad we're not losing the work of these fantastic artists!

The Ex-Boyfriend Yard Sale will now run from October 18 to November 6, 2022. Opening Night is now Friday, October 21, 2022 at 8:00PM.

The Golden Record will now run from November 9 to November 20, 2022. Opening Night is now Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 7:30PM.

Despite these postponements, we remain optimistic that we will finally return to the stage, welcoming audiences back for our 2022 Season and that we will get to celebrate Soulpepper’s 25th anniversary as a community this year. With these changes now in effect, the first production that will open our 2022 Season in April is Pipeline by Dominique Morisseau, directed by Weyni Mengesha.
