Toronto: Guild Festival Theatre announces its 2023 season

Wednesday, November 30, 2022

Fresh from their success at the 2022 Dora Mavor Moore Awards, Scarborough’s Guild Festival Theatre proudly announces another exciting season of performances in the park.

“As we present our 12th season, we're excited to expand our programming once again! Bringing back two GFT audience favourites as well as two new productions, this season has something for everyone - comedy, music, mystery and more,” say Artistic Directors Helen Juvonen and Tyler Seguin.

After two years of packed audiences and glowing reviews, Scarborough's summer tradition is expanding to three productions. From a whimsical journey through Wonderland, to a hilariously ill-fated boating holiday up the Thames to the darker themes of true crime, this season is about journeys and discoveries. With an all-Canadian selection of scripts, as well as their popular festival of performances for young audiences, Guild Festival Theatre's 2023 Season is another reason to celebrate Scarborough.

Alice in Wonderland - July 2023

The second annual Family Fest offers free performances and activities for all ages. Full schedule and lineup featuring some familiar faces and new acts are coming soon!

Three Men in a Boat - July/August 2023

Award-winning writer and director team Mark Brownell & Sue Miner present a hilarious adaptation of Jerome K. Jerome’s classic Victorian satire. Join our three intrepid bachelors Jay, George, and Harris (and their dog) as they spend a disastrous weekend punting up the river Thames.

By Beth Graham, Charlie Tomlinson, and Daniela Vlaskalic

Betty Mitchell Award for Outstanding New Play

Guild Festival Theatre is exhilarated to present this true crime story about three brides with a gruesome connection: they were all married to and murdered by the same man. Hauntingly poetic and unnervingly playful, this award-winning play will bring a touch of mystery to the Greek Theatre.
