St. Catharines: The Norm Foster Theatre Festival announces its 2023 season
Friday, December 9, 2022
We are incredibly excited to be announcing our 2023 season! This season, we have chosen plays that focus on perspective - seeing the other side of things in our lives. Is the grass always greener on the other side? What happens when we examine different sides of the same issue? How can we come together to open up our hearts and minds to new ideas?
We wanted to explore these themes with you this season through this line-up of evocative Norm Foster plays, while also having a lot of fun and sharing in the laughter together!
Our 2023 Acting Company will be announced in the New Year on a show by show basis. We have a stellar company of artists lined up for our 2023 Season and we look forward to introducing you to them very soon.

3 Acres Farm, Pelham
2pm & 7:30pm performances available
A young Canadian homesteader travelling far from home finds himself accused of murder in the state of Kansas in 1871. With only his wits to defend himself, he turns the law of the land - and the men hell-bent on enforcing it - upside down. This authentic western is a new take on the days when guns were the law. Don’t miss this thrilling play by Norm Foster filled with twists and turns that will keep you guessing. With an actual barn, nestled at the top of the Niagara escarpment, as our setting, we are excited to offer another unique, site-specific theatre experience for Foster Festival audiences!

Jenny’s House of Joy
by Norm Foster
directed by Lisa Horner
Running August 9 - 20, 2023
Mandeville Theatre at Ridley College, St. Catharines
2pm & 7:30pm performances available
Jenny’s House of Joy is the companion piece to Outlaw by Norm Foster. This is the first time a theatre company has offered these companion pieces in the same season!
Jenny runs the best little house of ill-repute in her corner of the old Wild West. When a tireless young runaway comes begging for a job, the girls at Jenny's house might just have to leave their lingerie behind. A delightful Foster comedy about the oldest profession that will leave you in stitches!

In addition to having fully-produced plays back this season, we are also excited to be performing at the Mandeville Theatre at Ridley College in St. Catharines! Local audiences may know this theatre from attending shows presented by the long-standing St. Catharines Community Theatre group, Garden City Productions. We look forward to introducing our Foster Festival audiences to this new space.
For this year's site-specific show, we're happy to be going back to 3 Acres Farm in Pelham in June 2023 - if you attended our Country Ceilidh, you will remember this beautiful barn nestled at the top of the Niagara Escarpment! This unique setting will perfectly fit the themes of Foster's play, Outlaw.
