Theatre Collingwood has announced its 2022 playbill.

2022 REGULAR SEASON SHOWS

A Night in Vegas

June 1st-5th

Starring Micah Barnes and Billy Newton-Davis

Accompanist Diane Leah

Directed by Thom Allison

Location TBD

June 1-5 (5 performances)

Featuring the songs of Sammy Davis Jr, Tony Bennett, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra and more!

Two of Canada’s favourite performers will take you back to the nostalgic era of classic showrooms in this double headliner show. Audiences may know Micah Barnes’ rich baritone voice best from his time as a member of the global sensations The Nylons, as well as from his own chart topping solo Jazz albums New York Stories and Vegas Breeze, which he is currently touring across Canada.

Singer/Songwriter/Recording Artist, Billy Newton-Davis, is a 4-time Juno Award winner for “Most Promising Male Vocalist”, and “Best R&B Recording”. His 4th Juno was for “Best Dance Recording”, a collaboration with international producer DJ Deadmau5. He has performed on Broadway as a song and dance man, as well as on the New York Night Club scene, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, and Toronto. Billy also recorded a duet with Celine Dion on his 2nd CD “Spellbound”. He toured with the acclaimed acapella group, The Nylons, for several years.

Join Billy while he performs a tribute to the great Sammy Davis Jr. and let Micah carry you away with critically acclaimed tunes from his current album “Vegas Breeze”. A night of thrilling entertainment filled with familiar tunes that will leave you feeling like you've just hit the jackpot at The Sands!

A Scandal for All Seasons

August 2-6 (7 performances)

Written by Burke Campbell

Directed by Iain Moggach

Location: Simcoe Street Theatre, Collingwood

An original farce is coming to Collingwood this summer! A Scandal for All Seasons tells the story of two Barrie socialites who engage in a "battle of the bulge" over the sexy, progressive Mayor of Barrie. Is there corruption in local politics? There definitely is humour!

Rock 'n' Roll is Here to Stay

August 16-20 (6 performances)

Starring Leisa Way and the Wayward Wind Band

Location: TBD

Way-To-Go Productions keeps the classic rock flame burning in this high energy show that is mesmerizing audiences with the electrifying sounds of the hottest rock stars and bands in history.

"In a finale that brought the audience cheering to its feet, Leisa Way and the Wayward Wind Band proved, in this exciting new musical production, that everyone just "wants to Rock 'n Roll all night... " Morrisburg Leader

The Foursome

September 20-24 (7 performances)

By Norm Foster

From The Foster Festival

Location: TBD

Performed on an actual golf course!

Rick, Ted, Donnie, and Cameron are home for their fifteen-year college reunion; a great time to go out for a game of golf and catch up on each other’s lives. Unlike their college days, the conversation doesn’t include talk of beer and final exams, but of colonoscopies, home-security systems, alcoholism, Buddhism, and more.

Mary of Shanty Bay

October 5 - 9

By Leah Holder

From Theatre by the Bay

Location: Simcoe Street Theatre, Collingwood

This beautiful and historical story was created from the diaries of Mary Sophia Gapper, who visited Canada in 1828, married Edward O’Brien, and then settled at the ‘edge of the world’ in Oro Township. This is a heartwarming examination of a part of our regional history and the settlement of Shanty Bay.
