St. Catharines: Ticket now on sale for “1812” by Norm Foster to be staged at Fort George

Thursday, April 21, 2022

The Norm Foster Theatre Festival is proud to present our world premiere production of 1812 by Norm Foster!

Running June 8 - 23, 2022

Two towns. A bridge connecting them and a border dividing them. When the war of 1812 breaks out, the neighbouring border towns of St. Stephen, New Brunswick and Calais, Maine are reluctant to go to war against each other. The people in each community have built life-long friendships – freely crossing the bridge that connects them for daily visits. Literally overnight, the war quickly redefines their world as they know it and their lives are forever changed. Through humour and Foster’s trademark witty dialogue, 1812 by Norm Foster examines the meaning of friendship, love and loyalty.

The Norm Foster Theatre Festival looks forward to sharing this unique, outdoor theatre experience with all of you, our Foster Friends, this June at the Fort George National Historic Site in Niagara-on-the-Lake. In addition to our world premiere production of 1812, we have put together special 1812 packages, offering a variety of experiences to choose from. Whether you are a history buff and wish to partake in an 1812 Experience Day, or are interested in the paranormal and wish to participate in a Post-Performance Ghost Tour, or are a theatre-goer who would like to join us for only the play, there is an experience available for all Foster Fans!
