Bright: Walters Music Venue reopens on June 13

Tuesday, May 24, 2022

For two years, the Walters Music Venue has sat empty as the world waited for the COVID-19 pandemic to end.

The once-bustling theatre that has delighted audiences and performers alike for more than two decades was forced to sit idle as public-health restrictions limited public gatherings.

But in a little more than three weeks – Monday, June 13, to be exact – the doors to popular venue in nearby Bright will reopen, bringing the music back to the Walters Family stage.

But while the venue itself sat idle, the Walters family stayed busy.

“We worked the entire two years of the pandemic to make our venue even better. From the addition to a second stage to launching hot air balloons from our property, we can’t wait to show everyone what we have done.” said Kimberly Walters.

A beautifully transformed 200-year-old wooden-beamed barn, the Walters Family theatre first opened at their 40-hectare Blandford-Blenheim farm 22 years ago. Since then, the family has worked to turn their rural home into an entertainment destination that has welcomes tens of thousands of people from all over the world.

After seasons that brought shows from Europe, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, Nashville and Branson, Mo., to their state-of-the-art theatre, the Walter Family has a celebratory 2022 planned.

The Walters Family comprises five performing family members – two brothers, a sister, a mother and grandson – who have performed their entire lives together. They have toured the world, bringing their upbeat brand of performance to audiences at concerts, on cruise ships, in theatres and worldwide events. In the course of their music career, they have had several of their own television series and specials, have extensively toured, recorded many albums and singles and currently concentrate their time in operating their music venue.

A career highlight was when the Walters Family fulfilled a dream of performing at Nashville’s top performance hall, The Ryman Auditorium, paralleling the 84th birthday celebration of The Grand Ole Opry.

The first show at the Walters Music Venue will be Oh What a Night!, a musical tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons running June 13-25.
