Toronto: Toronto Fringe announces award winners and Patrons’ Picks

Toronto Fringe is proud to reveal 11 Patrons’ Picks and the recipients of four Festival Awards from the 34th Annual Toronto Fringe Festival. The Toronto Fringe announced the recipients of Patrons’ Picks, and the Tosho Cutting Edge Award, the Comedy Bar and Second City Award For Outstanding Comedy Award, the David Seguin Memorial Award for Accessibility in the Arts Award, and the North (519) Best of the Fringe Award on Friday, July 15 at POSTSCRIPT Patio at the Tranzac Club.

The winners of Patrons’ Picks represent the best selling show at each main venue. Winning shows are awarded with an extra performance on closing night of the festival. Tickets to Patrons’ Pick shows are now on sale via the Toronto Fringe website and box office.

The Tosho Cutting Edge Award

A publicly voted award representing the most cutting-edge show in the festival. Winning shows and voters are entered in a contest to win a prize from Tosho Knife Arts.

The North (519) Best of the Fringe Award

Winners will be given the opportunity for up to two additional performances, presented by Theatre Orangeville, as part of their Summer Arts Fest which runs from August 10-14, 2022.

Awarded to the funniest shows in the festival. Representatives from Second City and the Comedy Bar will select two shows for additional performances in the fall.
