The Capitol Theatre is proud to announce Sleeping Beauty: A Panto Awakening!

This brand new script is currently being created exclusively for audiences at the Capitol Theatre. Written by Second City alumni (and husband and wife team) Paloma Nuñez and Kevin Whalen, this hilarious musical re-telling features popular music in new arrangements by Scott Pietrangelo.

In our tale, Sleeping Beauty is at the centre of a conflict between the two telecommunications giants in Canada. With Maleficent trying to regain her power, a Prince who solves every problem with a kiss, and a kind and gentle Sasquatch, this fairytale re-telling pokes fun at cancel culture, performative politics, corporate greed, and our divisive society—all wrapped up in one entertaining musical package!
