Toronto: Tomorrow “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” celebrates its 100th performance in Toronto

Tuesday, September 20, 2022

The evening performance on Wednesday, September 21 of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be the Canadian premiere production’s 100th. To celebrate, the cast will be gathering at 5:30pm in the lobby of the newly remodeled CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre for the cutting of a custom-made cake and a toast. (The evening performance begins at 7:00 p.m.)

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child began preview performances on May 31, with the official opening night on June 19. (It is theatre tradition to not count the preview performances when calculating the length of a show’s run.)

The opening of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child after two years of lockdowns and restricted capacity performances was the first sign that Toronto’s thriving theatre sector was back. Celebrating 100 performances is a further sign that Toronto’s theatres have been embraced by both local and visiting audiences.
