Sandy Rustin's comedy The Cottage will play a limited engagement at Broadway's Hayes Theater this summer. Directed by Tony winner Jason Alexander (Jerome Robbins' Broadway, Seinfeld), the production will begin previews July 7 prior to an official opening July 24.

The cast will feature Emmy winner Eric McCormack (Will & Grace, The Music Man), Tony nominee Laura Bell Bundy (Legally Blonde), and Tony nominee Lilli Cooper (Tootsie). Additional casting and creative team members will be announced at a later date.

Inspired by the works of Noël Coward, The Cottage is set in the English countryside in 1923 as Sylvia decides to expose her affair to both her husband and to her lover’s wife.

Alexander, who will be making his Broadway directorial debut, says, “To be a Broadway director doing a new and delicious comedy with a team and cast I adore is the definition of a dream come true. I am incredibly excited to bring this hysterical play to an audience that is ready to laugh and have a fantastic time.”

Performances are currently scheduled through October 29. Tickets are not yet on sale.

The Cottage will be produced by Broadway & Beyond Theatricals (Victoria Lang, Ryan Bogner, Tracey McFarland), Martian Entertainment (Carl White, Gregory Rae), and Cornice Productions (Eric Cornell, Jack Sennott).

Broadway & Beyond Theatricals will executive produce, and Martian Entertainment will serve as general manager.

The Cottage, which is a commercial production, will follow Larissa FastHorse's The Thanksgiving Play into Second Stage's Hayes.
