THE ASSEMBLY THEATRE Launches a brand new variety show chock-full of comedy, cosplay and comic books with COMIC BOOKS LIVE!!!

In association with Excelsior! Collective , the beloved Parkdale home of independent performance, The Assembly Theatre launches a new bi-quarterly variety show Comic Book Live!! Torontoʼs only variety show/ live action comic book reading series!

Inaugural Event this March 3rd and 4th !!!

The Assembly Theatre 1479 Queen Street West Toronto, Ontario

Each installment plucks a comic book from all eras of graphic fiction history, chosen by series host, Assembly alumni and all around comic fanboy Luis Fernandes (Therac 25, The Assembly Theatre; Tough Jews, Dora Award nomination - Outstanding Ensemble) and gives it a high-energy dramatic reading by some of Torontoʼs finest live performers! Audience is encouraged to bring a copy of the book (or buy it at the pop-up comic shop in our lobby courtesy of our outstanding sponsor WEST END COMICS ) and read along with us!

Snikt!! For our FIRST EVER installment we will be reading 90's Marvel masterpiece X-men #1 by Chris Claremont and Jim Lee. Bring a copy (or buy one at the show) and let's get 'er done, Bub! (Don't worry, the show can be enjoyed sans comic...but for the full experience, grab a copy! Visit your local comic shop, hit a library, or buy one at the show!)
