Every year since 2012 The Musical Stage Company has worked with two exceptional musical theatre performers and showcased their extraordinary abilities at the annual Banks Prize Cabaret. Each year Toronto musical theatre fans have come to the cabaret as an opportunity to get to know the stars of tomorrow and earn the right to say “I saw them when…”

GET A LIFE, this year’s project, has been produced, conceived, written, and directed by these incredibly talented artists. Our apprentice artists and Banks Prize winners should be on your radar - they are poised to take our sector by storm! We can’t wait to see what they will continue to do.

Taylor Garwood & Vinnie Alberto, The Musical Stage Company’s 2022-23 Syd & Shirley Banks Prize winners, present an expressive cabaret performance at Old Flame Brewery.

This cabaret is a passionate self-investigation of personal roots, creative expression and the journey of two incredible artists. This 11th anniversary Banks Prize showcase is led by 2022-2023 RBC apprentice Director Saccha Dennis with dramaturgical support by Apprentice Artistic Director Sarah O'Brecht, and features exciting musical selections, performed by this year’s two Banks Prize winners.

GET A LIFE is a one time event that will be presented on: Monday, May 8th, 2023 at 8:00 PM at Old Flame Brewery, 43 Tank House Lane.
