Théâtre français de Toronto (TfT) presents VACHES, THE MUSICAL, Créations In Vivo's wildly entertaining musical that has already conquered the rest of Ontario. This Franco-Ontarian “Broadway show” is playing in Toronto (finally!) at the Berkeley Street Theatre from May 10 to 13, with the May 11 performance tied in with TfT's Fundraising Gala.

What’s it about? Well… Have you always wanted to visit the village of Casselman? To relive 1998’s historic ice storm? Or to meet a cow named Caramel? All in the same movie? Why, so do we!

But while we wait to receive the funds to adapt this epic tale for the silver screen, here is the Musical version.

Loosely based on a true story, VACHES, THE MUSICAL tells the story of how Jean, a local farmer, tries to save hundreds of cows from certain death when an ice storm hits his farm. VACHES, THE MUSICAL is also the story of his daughter, Julie, who wants to leave her childhood village to start anew in Toronto; it’s also about a money-hungry mayor and brave soldiers tasked with combating this heartless frigid storm.

Both funny and touching, VACHES, THE MUSICAL speaks (and sings!) with humour and sincerity about the resilience of Franco-Ontarians in the face of adversity.

In January 2020, during a presentation at Contact ontarois (the must-see showcase for Franco-Ontarian presenters), the musical proved to be the breakout hit of the event. However, touring could only resume once the health crisis subsided. The musical is now, finally, in Toronto. Don’t wait.
