Introducing, our 30th Anniversary Season Playbill:

✦ To welcome you back in September, our Add-On Presentation will be Whiskey Jack presents Stories & Songs of Stompin’ Tom.

Coming to us from September 15th - 17th, 2023, tickets for this show will be available at a discount to subscribers. Call in to get your discount!

Stompin’ Tom became a fan of Whiskey Jack during their tenure as regulars on the CBC’s Tommy Hunter Show. Each week, Tom would join millions of his fellow Canadians and watch them sing, play and laugh on their own segment, “The Old Back Porch”. What followed was a 25 year friendship and musical collaboration with Tom that produced many recordings, cross-country tours, and all night kitchen parties in his home. They even co-wrote some songs together.

“All of our shows feature a mix of Tom’s greatest hits combined with many outrageous, yet true, backstage stories of our time with Tom. This is a show that will entertain fans of all musical genres. We guarantee everyone will leave the theatre with a smile on their face and a spring to their step.” Says Duncan Fremlin – frontman of Whiskey Jack.

✦ Our first mainstage production of our 30th Anniversary Season will be The View from Here by Jamie Williams.

A heartfelt comedy, this show appears on your stage October 12th - 29th, and will be available for 3 or 5 show subscriptions.

Mary and Michael have some issues.

Things just aren’t turning out quite the way they’d planned, and the view from here isn’t exactly the view they had been expecting to see.

Weddings and funerals, unscheduled renovations, Guinness and date nights, the foibles of intimacy after a certain age … it all adds up to seeing the world in a very different, and often very hilarious way!

✦ Our 2nd mainstage production of the 2023 - 2024 Season is a WORLD PREMIERE of Cinderella... if the Shoe Fits. A sure-to-be new fan-favourite pantomime on YOUR stage.

Written by Debbie Collins and our very own Artistic Director, David Nairn, Cinderella comes to our stage from November 30th to December 23rd - and is also available for 3 and 5 show subscriptions.

This hilarious and over the top Pantomime is bursting with outrageous high-energy, is full of laughs, a little magic, loveable characters, and great sing-along music.

Featuring alive band, this show gives the audience the chance to cheer the hero and boo the villain at every turn. (And yes, it’s encouraged!)

For a bonus, we’ll be presenting two versions of the show!

Bring your children or grandchildren, along with your nieces and nephews, to one of our Nice performances.

Coming with your sweetheart, your buddies, your pals? Join the same great cast for a riotous performance that’s just a wee bit more Naughty. Enjoy the political commentary of the day and some cheeky 14+ humour.

This madcap World Premiere Panto is guaranteed fun for kids of all ages – don’t miss this NEW Holiday favourite!

✦ Our 3rd mainstage production of our 30th Anniversary Season is Doris & Ivy in the Home, a feel-good comedy by Norm Foster.

A Norm Foster comedy is exactly what everyone needs come February, catch it from the 8th to the 25th in 2024 on YOUR stage. It is also available for 3 and 5 show subscriptions.

Retired prison guard Doris Mooney has just moved into Paradise Village, a retirement home in Canmore, Alberta. She quickly befriends Ivy Hoffbauer, a former champion skier who’s taken aback by Doris’ cheerful brashness.

Rounding out the trio is dapper Arthur Beech who has designs on Ivy.

Love, gossip, and sex behind the compost heap, this is Norm Foster at his hilarious best!

✦ Our 4th mainstage production is another WORLD PREMIERE from the mind of Kristen Da Silva, By the Light of a Story.

This romantic comedy premieres March 7th 2024 and runs through to the 24th. Subscribers take note - this show will also come with your 5 show subscriptions - and is available to add to 3-show subscriptions too!

Madeline Holland is a young widow struggling to pick herself up after the loss of her novelist husband, Rhys. Her sister-in-law Tammy is doing her best to drag Madeline out of her sweatpants and back into the world but it’s not until Noah Boyd, a ghostwriter hired to complete Rhys’ best-selling fantasy series, appears on Madeline’s doorstep that things start to get interesting. Eager to do his writing mentor proud, and determined to protect her husband’s legacy, the pair quickly get acquainted, and suddenly, Madeline finds herself at the crossroads of a new chapter.

✦ Our 5th and final mainstage production of our 30th Anniversary Season is another WORLD PREMIERE - brought to us by Leslie McCurdy and Cassel Miles, based on an original script by Leslie McCurdy - The Darktown Strutters’ Ball.

This compelling new musical premieres on April 25th and will run through to May 12th 2024. Be SURE to add this toe-tapper to your 3 show subscription choices - not only is it the last show of the year, it’s a world premiere musical!

The song ‘The Darktown Strutters’ Ball’ was the earliest jazz recording ever made, and it was written by Shelton Brooks, an Afro-Canadian who was the music industry’s first superstar.

This compelling new musical will take you back to the early days of music halls and vaudeville, days that have inspired every musician right up to, and including, those of today.

This Strutters’ Ball is for people just like you, people who like to strut their stuff … and it’ll be a party as ever a party could be!
