Picton: County Stage announces the County Stage Mystery Game and Mystery Mondays at The Regent Theatre

Friday, June 9, 2023

Introducing the County Stage Mystery Game, a collaboration with County Stage and The Regent Theatre, where participants will find clues to a whodunnit mystery and win prizes. This free summer activity invites our community and visitors to tap into their inner sleuths and detective spirit. We also hope it encourages participants to come see the Broadway hit The 39 Steps at the Eddie Pavilion and see classic noir mystery films at The Regent Theatre for free on Monday nights.

Here's how the game works. Visit the County Stage Mystery Game page (countystage.ca) to gather information on the “murder” and “suspects”. Visit each of our 10 participating businesses in The County to collect a clue. Then submit a guess online to be entered into the raffle for a chance to win.

The game kicks off on the evening of Monday June 12th, 7pm at The Regent, with the first Mystery Monday movie, a screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s original The 39 Steps. The Regent will announce other noir classics to be played on the big screen weekly until July 31st. All Murder Mystery Monday screenings are free!

The County Stage Mystery Game runs from June 13th to August 6th, allowing ample time for participants to test their detective skills, discover clues, and win prizes. The adventure will culminate with a grand prize announcement on August 6th, recognizing ten lucky winners who successfully crack the case.

"We’re thrilled to unveil the County Stage Mystery Game and Mystery Mondays at The Regent Theatre to promote our mainstage production of Patrick Barlow’s hilarious adaptation of The 39 Steps,” says Vikki Anderson, Managing Director at County Stage. "This event not only offers an engaging and immersive experience for participants but also serves as an opportunity to showcase the vibrant businesses in our community. We invite everyone to join us in this summer sleuthing adventure!”

The Regent’s Executive Director, Alexandra Seay adds: “Community partnerships like this are a core part of the Regent’s offerings. We are thrilled to be collaborating with County Stage Company to present Mystery Mondays running in tandem with County Stage’s Mystery Game. This project builds on the success of our Mustang Monday movie series and the popularity of Rushnell’s Free Family Movies. It’s free fun for everyone!”
