New York: “The Cottage” starring Eric McCormack opens on Broadway July 24

Sandy Rustin's The Cottage officially opens its Broadway run at The Helen Hayes Theater July 24 after beginning previews July 7. The 16-week limited engagement will continue through October 29. Tony winner Jason Alexander makes his Broadway directorial debut helming the production.

Leading the cast are Laura Bell Bundy as Sylvia, Eric McCormack as Beau, Lilli Cooper as Marjorie, Alex Moffat as Clarke, Dana Steingold as Dierdre, and Nehal Joshi as Richard. Rounding out the company as understudies are Michelle Federer, Jamie Ann Romero, Matthew Flloyd Miller, and Tony Roach. Casting is by Laura Stanczyk.

Inspired by the works of Noël Coward and written by Rustin (Clue), The Cottage is set in the English countryside in 1923 as Sylvia decides to come clean with her affair to both her husband and to her lover’s wife.

The production features scenic design by Paul Tate dePoo III, costume design by Sydney Maresca, lighting design by Jiyoun Chang, sound design by Justin Ellington, and wig, hair, and makeup design by Tommy Kurzman. Lark Hackshaw is production stage manager, with Brant Sennett serving as stage manager.
