Toronto: Riot King presents Tennessee Williams’s “Suddenly Last Summer” August 9-13
Tuesday, July 11, 2023
Riot King is back with another exciting, site-specific production! Don’t miss the limited run of Suddenly Last Summer by Tennessee Williams presented at Sorry Studios. Named one of Williams’ most poetic plays, Suddenly Last Summer is a strange and unnerving Southern Gothic play that explores mental health, repressed desires, and the lengths a dysfunctional family will go to keep dark secrets hidden.
Under the direction of Kathleen Welch (Co-creator and composer of SAMCA: In The Soil Festival, tapashta Digital Festival, and winner of the Hamilton Fringe New Play Contest 2022) with a cast led by Lindsey Middleton (Canadian screen award nominee, two time Indie Series Award Winner, IAWTV award winner), Suddenly Last Summer features an incredible ensemble featuring Elaine Lindo, Ryan Iwanicki, Carling Tedesco, Brendan Kinnon, Jobina Sitoh and Shadan Rahbari.
Williams’ play uncovers the frightening and disturbing realities that can hide behind what is seemingly beautiful. Join us as we transform the beautiful Sorry Studios (61 Elm Grove Avenue) into an overgrown, carnivorous, New Orleans garden patio to share this intense, thrilling drama.
