Toronto: Canadian Stage reveals cast of “The Inheritance”

Tuesday, January 30, 2024

The Canadian Premiere of The Inheritance begins in March!

The Inheritance reimagines E.M. Forster’s Howard’s End as a contemporary portrait of the generation after the height of the AIDS crisis.

In contemporary Manhattan, Eric and Toby are 30-somethings who seem to be in love and thriving. But on the cusp of their engagement, they meet an older man haunted by the past and a younger man hungry for a future. Chance meetings lead to surprising choices as the lives of three generations collide—with explosive results.

Sweeping the 2020 Tony Awards, The Inheritance is a modern masterpiece presented in two parts.

Qasim Khan (Henry VIII, Stratford Festival) and Antoine Yared (Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, Stratford Festival) star as Eric and Toby, the young couple at the centre of The Inheritance

The incredible cast of The Inheritance includes Stephen Jackman-Torkoff (Richard II, Stratford Festival), Hollywood Jade (Canada’s Drag Race, WOW), Daniel MacIvor (Let's Run Away, Monster and Cul-de-sac, Canadian Stage), Jim Mezon (Caesar and Cleopatra, Shaw Festival), Louise Pitre (Mamma Mia!, Broadway), Salvatore Antonio (Botticelli in the Fire, Canadian Stage), Aldrin Bundoc Hilot Means Healer, Cahoots), Breton Lalama (Alice in Wonderland, Bad Hats), Landon Nesbitt (Punch Up, Theatre on the Ridge), Ben Page (Joseph/Dreamcoat, Drayton) and Gregory Prest (Of Human Bondage, Soulpepper).

The Inheritance is directed by Brendan Healy, Artistic Director of Canadian Stage and acclaimed director of award-winning shows across Canada.
