Toronto: Village Players present “Social Security” January 12-February 3

Tuesday, January 9, 2024

Village Players' production of Andrew Bergman's Social Security, directed by Ken Stern, opens this weekend. The New York Post praised the original production as "The play is a hoot, and better yet, a sophisticated, civilized hoot" and we're sure you will think the same of this production!

The lives of trendy Manhattan art gallery owners, Barbara and David Kahn, are upended when her Mineola housewife sister Trudy deposits their eccentric mother Sophie on the couple’s doorstep. Barbara and David introduce Sophie to suave nonagenarian artist Maurice Koenig, who offers to paint her portrait and soon begins to brighten her life in ways she never expected in her twilight years.

These are shown in green and blue in the accompanying diagram. At all performances we will be running our enhanced ventilation system which brings in fresh air and features a UVC-light virus killer designed for hospitals.
