Tuesday, November 19, 2024

Guild Festival Theatre is excited to announce our 14th season in Guild Park.

GFT’s 2025 summer programming features a world premiere inspired by Shakespeare's Hamlet, and a tour-de-force comedy spy thriller based on a Hitchcock classic, as well as the fourth edition of our popular Family Fest!

"We think our audiences are going to love the reimagined classics in our 2025 season. This summer, the Greek Theatre will be alive with comedy and thrills as well as the energy and enthusiasm of Family Fest!" say Co-Artistic Directors Helen Juvonen and Tyler J. Seguin.

Follow the incredible adventures of our handsome hero Richard Hannay as he encounters dastardly murders and double-crossing secret agents. The 39 Steps is filled with nonstop laughs, fast-paced fun, thrilling action and some old-fashioned romance!

Part Hitchcock masterpiece, part classic spy novel, part Monty Python comedy - The 39 Steps is a hilarious whodunit featuring a cast of four playing over 100 characters.

It's fast and funny and very theatrical. I think our audiences are going to love the high-energy thrills and comedy. - Tyler J. Seguin

HERATIO

August 7-24

Preview: August 7

Opening Night: August 8

World Premiere

Guild Festival Theatre is proud to to present the world premiere of this bold re-imagining of Hamlet that picks up the story after Shakespeare's ending.

Through a delightful blend of humour, mystery and melancholy, Heratio gives the stage to the women and servants who are left to clean up the mess created by the intrigues of princes and kings.

Heratio was developed through GFT's new play development program and was nominated for the Playwrights Guild of Canada's Tom Hendry Award for comedy.

Horatio is one of my favourite characters in Shakespeare. The observer and loyal friend takes centre stage in this brilliant new work that will make you question everything you think you know about Hamlet- Helen Juvonen
