St. Catharines: The Foster Festival announces the cast for “A Niagara Christmas Carol”
Thursday, October 23, 2025
With Thanksgiving behind us and Halloween fast approaching, it's the perfect time to start planning for the holiday season—especially with festive decorations already filling the stores!
Why not kick things off with a heartwarming holiday outing? A Niagara Christmas Carol takes to the stage at the Mandeville Theatre, Ridley College, December 4–14. Presented in partnership with the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre, this holiday production is perfect for the whole family. Parking is free and Ridley Road is newly paved!
In celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Welland Canal Company and the canal’s historic construction, this adaptation sets Dickens’ timeless ghost story right in 19th-century St. Catharines, during the canal’s second build.
This uniquely Canadian version of A Christmas Carol has been adapted by Jamie Williams, Artistic Associate at The Foster Festival, and is directed by the Festival's Artistic Director, Emily Oriold. With just five actors playing 20 roles, it promises to be an imaginative, entertaining, and meaningful start to your holiday season.
