A story of a woman in Northern Ontario who gives birth to identical quintuplets in 1934, altering her family’s dynamics. Years later, the quintuplets visit their dying mother and reflect on their shared identity shaped by joy and tragedy. The drama explores the struggle for individuality among sisters perceived as one unit, posing the question: Can five truly be one? Inspired by the Dionne quintuplets—cultural icons—the play highlights their triumphs and challenges in forming distinct identities within societal expectations.

Expect humor and an unexpected twist in this inventive fairy tale. “Greg Banks’ adaptation offers a furious, hilarious take on a classic story. It’s groundbreaking in theatricality and representation.”

MONKS

By Veronica Hortigüela & Annie Luján

July 12 - 13, 2025 | The Red Barn at The Eddie

Following a sold out run at the Toronto Fringe, a remount at the Crow’s Theatre Cabaret, and being named a CRITIC'S PICK by The Globe and Mail during another sold out run at The Theatre Centre, this cult (forgive us, Father) favourite is coming to the County! The monks who reside in the hilltop monastery have always lived in total isolation. When the Abbot ventures into town, two medieval Brothers take the opportunity to invite a wagon full of strangers to their austere abode. Trying to complete their tasks of counting lentils, caring for their donkey, and keeping the monastery standing becomes the quest of a lifetime. Accept the invitation and join the monks on a journey for a good time in this shockingly dumb interactive clown show featuring magical realism, live music, unbridled chaos, and every interpretation of the word ‘ass’.

County Stage is committed to making theatre accessible to all. This summer, we’re excited to offer free physical theatre workshops for youth following select performances of Snow White. Additionally, we continue our free ticket initiative for audiences 25 and under, ensuring that the next generation of theatre lovers can experience live performance in The County.
